THE SUPPLY CHAIN

FARM

We source our blanks from Original Favorites, a company that is authenticated and certified to be eco-friendly, sustainable, and ethical. Their cotton comes directly from the San Joaquin Valley in California, United States. They posses the ISO 9001 for Quality Systems, that “… ensures we have engagement throughout all levels of workers, a process approach that looks at activities being understood and managed as interrelated processes that function as a successful and coherent system. Highlighted standards are focusing on improvement at all levels, making evidence-based decisions, and managing relationships with all parties involved in a successful way.” In addition to this, they possess the ISO 14001 for Environmental Management Systems, ensuring consumers that their environmental impact is constantly, consistently, and continuously measured and improved. All of their cotton is grown organically, and is certified by Oritain to be scientifically traceable to their origin. Original Favorites “…connect[s] with eco-friendly farms that implement sustainable and fair practices while producing the raw materials we use to produce our garments.”

GARMENT

After the cotton is harvested from the organic and sustainable farms of Original Favorites, it is sent to their cotton gin, where debris and other waste is removed from the product. The processed cotton is then sent to be spun into yarn, starting with the carding machine, where individual fibers are sorted, and remaining debris is removed. The product is then sent to the combing machine, where short fibers are removed and any other impurities are separated from the cotton. The cotton is then ring-spun into yarn, where slivers of yarn are twisted on a spindle. Then, through the technique of weft-knitting, the yarn is made into a fabric, where the loops formed running horizontally along the fabric, creating a garment where the Wales and courses run perpendicular to each other. The fabric is then sent to factories that “…meet requirements concerning working and social conditions that are equivalent to those of leading social sustainability standards.” Original Favorites’ factories are WRAP Certified, and conform to the International Labor Organization, the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the Organization for Economic Development’s key norms of social standards. Once the garment is complete, it is sent to us, where we develop it into the pieces that our community dawns today.

ART

Once we receive our garments, we use a variety of techniques to add our unique features and designs to our pieces to make our clothing Paraíso International’s. Through embroidery, heat press, and screen printing, we add our branding, mission, and values to our blanks, to create the artwear that our community loves. Our creators develop designs to perfectly compliment the hues, stitching, and quality of the garments we receive, decorating our pieces into unique and complex works of art. Once our garments are turned into our artwork, they are carefully inspected for flaws and other issues, ensuring our community the magnificent quality control that is a core part of our identity.

DELIVERY

After we develop our blanks into the artwork distributed by Paraíso International, they are packed into boxes that reach our customers with care. We then ship them to our customers using one of three different methods of shipping and delivery: standard, expedited, and express. All of these options are facilitated by the United Parcel Service, allowing the customer the option of one-week, three day, and two day shipping times, respectively.

CUSTOMER

Finally, our products reach our customers, allowing them to dawn our ethical designs and sustainable styles. With each purchase, our customers have the opportunity to make a real difference, supporting a company committed to environmental justice, rather than contributing to a conglomerate that does not operate with sustainability in mind.
